The Wooden Pig opened its doors on December 6, 2005 at 411 Main Street in downtown Donnellson. The Budnik family moved to the area from Cary, North Carolina (the birthplace of barbeque) and spent the first nine months totally renovating the old building to create a bright, clean, up to date atmosphere to make special event more enjoyable. After trying out their many different recipes on their family and friends, they were ready to open their doors. They are proud to offer many homemade sides as well as unique offerings such as sweet potato fries and fried okra. All of the meat served is smoked on site in their authentic wood fired pit . They offer all of the barbeque connoisseurs favorites including ribs, brisket and pork loin.
